Stripes on the Causeway

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all in good form and ready for the long weekend. I had a day off on Friday and went on a day trip to the Giant’s Causeway. I went with Paddywagon Tours and it was an incredible day out. They picked us up in Dublin city centre at half seven and we spent the day travelling to and along the beautiful Antrim coastline. Apparently it is the fifth most beautiful coastline in the world and having been there I have to say I agree. We visited the Dark Hedges which were featured in Game of Thrones, the breathtaking Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge, the Causeway itself and we even managed to squeeze in an hour in Belfast city.  We were blessed with good weather and a fantastic guide so the trip was most definitely a success. It’s easy to forget the beauty of our little country with so many exciting places just a plane ride away but revisiting this world heritage site has awakened in me a desire to see more of this Emerald Isle.

Paddywagon Tours go to various places around Ireland and all information can be found here: http://www.paddywagontours.com

(I am not sponsored by Paddywagon, I just really enjoyed my trip.)

I knew the day was going to be full of picture perfect moments so I decided to wear a new outfit that I could share with you on the blog. I needed to be comfortable and so the outfit choice was influenced by this. On my days off I tend to turn to culottes a lot. I think they are such an easy way to be comfy but still look on trend. These striped culottes are a statement piece. I love how the thick belt ties in a knot at the front and how high waisted they are. I often wear culottes with flat shoes as I feel it gives a really cool feel to any look. This time I wore them with converse as I knew I had a lot of walking to do but I think these culottes would also look amazing dressed up with a red heel.

I decided to go for a bright, neon coloured top to add some contrast to the black and white. This top has some nice detailing with the triangular hole at the front. To finish the look off I put a loose, black bomber jacket on top. This made the look versatile and comfortable while also giving it a relaxed feel.

Culottes: €175 down to €60, Karen Millen

Top: €55, down to €35, Karen Millen

Bomber Jacket: €225, Karen Millen

Shoes: Converse

Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters, old.

(Again, I work for Karen Millen but am not sponsored by them.)
